Cheerios, Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs. So many cereals, so little time. Try a bowl of Shaktios. It's the cereal with divine energy. Oh, and an article considering Sarah Palin's VP nomination. Qualified? :::::::: I'm not here to jump on the "let's stab Sarah Palin with steely knives"- bandwagon. That's one loaded wagon right now, and I'd hate to further burden the horses pulling the rig. I'm here to complain that John McCain picked Mrs. Palin over Janine Turner, former star of 'Northern Exposure'. What are you talking about, Operdoc, you might be saying to yourself. Sarah Palin is an experienced politician, former mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, and Janine Turner is an actress and pitch woman for Christian Yoga videos. Why would you prefer her over Governor Palin?
Reason number one: Janine Turner is way more of a babe than Governor Palin. Sure, Mrs. Palin was Ms. Wasilla, Alaska back in 1984, but Janine was voted to Us magazine's list of 'Ten Most Beautiful Women' in 1991. And she still looks marvelous.
Reason number two: Yes, Sarah Palin has more political experience. Two years as Governor of Alaska and a term as the Mayor of Wasilla. But Janine Turner played the mayor of Cicely, Alaska, the fictional town of 'Northern Exposure' fame, and that's my favorite town in Alaska. Plus her character, Maggie O'Connell flew bush planes. Can Governor Palin do that?
Reason number three: Sure, Sarah is a right wing Christian with too many children, is against abortion for any reason, is for oil drilling on every street corner in Alaska, supports killing wolves and cutting funds for teenage women with unwanted pregnancies despite having a pregnant seventeen year old daughter whose boyfriend, at least, doesn't want the baby; but is she, like Ms. Turner, a single parent herself? I think not. Can she sell Christian Yoga DVDs on her website? I think not. (I'm wondering about this Christian takeover of Yoga. Isn't it a practice for heathens who believe in many gods, including Ganesh the Elephant Boy? And don't these heathens believe in peace and love and tolerance? That doesn't sound very Christian to me).
Reason number four. Sarah Palin lives in Alaska and was born in Idaho. Most of the voters there (and there aren't very many) are already Republicans so she's not going to carry much weight as far as winning delegates is concerned. Janine, on the other hand is from Texas. Thirty four delegates ripe for the picking. Texas might go Democratic if they remember that George Bush is sort of from there. Best to have some backup.
Reason number five. Who is more likely to hold her own in a Sylvester Stallone action movie? See the movie 'Cliffhanger' for the answer to that. Yes, that's Janine herself as Jessie Deighan.
Reason number six. Just how close to God is Sarah Palin? Yes, she's a member of a Pentecostal Church. Yes, she prayed for a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state, and yes, the pipeline money came through. But does she walk with God everyday? Not that I've read. Janine does. They even hold hands sometimes. I'd rather have a president who can walk with God than one who has to pray to Him. After all, George Bush talked (or prayed) to God regularly and look where that got us. Let's go with the woman who takes a daily constitutional with the Creator himself.
Finally, (and this is the big question for me) who looks better in a black, evening gown? Well, sorry, but Sarah is no match for Janine Turner. If you doubt me, go to Google. Sarah wears those knee high leather boots. So nineties. (Janine looks way hot in crushed velvet).
So, have I made my point? If John McCain, a man who is seventy two (happy birthday, John), and a survivor of multiple melanoma surgeries, and a man whose temper makes him a heart attack waiting to happen, wants to choose an under qualified woman to succeed him, shouldn't he choose the right under-qualified candidate? My answer is yes and my answer is draft Janine Turner for Republican Vice-President.
