Barnsley were sent to bottom of the league thanks to a wonder-strike from Steve Kabba. When it seemed that Vital Barnsley's match prediction would be correct, the former Sheff Utd striker had other ideas as he smashed a goal of the month contender past Luke Steele.
The Reds were twice thankful for clearances off the line after both substitutes, Nardiello and Southern, were denied certain goals.
Iain Hume looked tired after his eleven thousand mile round trip, that and taking a knock forced the Canadian international off at half time.
Hugo Roberto Colace made his debut at the sunny Bloomfield Road, the Argentine generally looked comfortable on the ball and did well to break up play. The 24-year-old should settle in as he gets used to the pace of the English game.
One moaning point however, was when Blackpool defender Ian Evett thought it was time to punch the ball with his fist in hiw own penalty area. Sixteen-hundred sun-drenched Barnsley fans saw it, sixteen Barnsley players saw it, Simon Davey and his coaching staff saw it and I'm sure the home fans saw it, Mr Bates however, didn't.
All in all, a point would have been a good result for the Reds to say they created no real clear cut chances.
Let's hope the Barnsley Boys can make amends on Tuesday when Dave Jones brings his Cardiff side to Oakwell.
