Politics - Oprah Winfrey Boycott Organized by FFRW Over Refusal to Interview Sarah Palin

The Florida Federation of Republican Women have announced they will refrain from supporting Oprah Winfrey and the products she endorses due to the media moguls refusal to interview Alaskan Governor, and Republican vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.

Winfrey has said she would not use her daily Oprah Winfrey Show as a political platform for candidates yet a large portion of her audience appear determined to sway the talk show host, expressing the belief that a Palin interview would recognize the historical impact she has made in the male dominated Republican party.

Linda Ivell, president of FFRW, expressed her displeasure with Oprah’s stance noting she was “sit[ting] out the greatest political moment in the history of Republican women since suffrage.”

The group has now called on other women to boycott the Oprah Winfrey Show, her magazine “O” as well as the products she endorses.

Oprah has said she would interview Sarah Palin after the November 4 election but has openly endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
